workshop details
With spring on the horizon, we are all itching to get our hands back in the soil. By starting your seeds indoors, you can start gardening while there’s still snow on the ground!
Growing your own vegetable starts can save you money and allow you to grow a larger variety of plants than you might find at the store. It is also a great way to enjoy the life cycle of plants while fostering excitement for the upcoming garden season!
Join Community Gardens Director Emily Kern Swaffar in this workshop to learn how to successfully start your seeds indoors. We’ll discuss what you need to build your own seed starting kit and which crops are best started indoors in our climate. By growing strong, healthy vegetable starts, you will enjoy healthy plants and an abundant harvest as the season goes on!
This is a hands-on workshop. The cost of this workshop covers containers, soil, seeds, and plant tags for each participant to plant 6 - 12 plants that you can take home in addition to the slides and resources provided in the lecture. Participants are welcome to bring their own seed starting trays and seeds.
