Community Gardens Coordinator

Working as part of a tight-knit team, the Community Gardens Coordinator assists in the administration and operations of Garden City Harvest’s community garden sites. While maintaining each garden site to be a beautiful and functional space where community members can grow their own food, the Coordinator also helps educate the 400+ community members served. This position offers a dynamic blend of outdoor physical work and administration, with an emphasis on communication, education, and problem solving.

Hours: Full time seasonal, February through mid-November, up to 40 hours per week for a total of approximately 1450 hours annually. Some weekend and evening work required.

Benefits: Wage starts at $17.80/hour; medical and dental insurance with premium paid in full by employer; 1 week vacation/sick equivalent per year; 3 paid holidays per year; equivalent of one small share of vegetables in season; phone stipend

PEAS Farm Caretaker

The PEAS Farm Caretaker will assist in the day-to-day farm operations at Garden City Harvest’s largest site, a 10-acre neighborhood farm that also serves as the hub for Garden City Harvest’s Farm to School program and the University of Montana’s Program in Ecological Agriculture and Society (PEAS). This position is unique – encompassing both daily farm work with the PEAS Farm team (includes planting, weeding, harvesting, and distributing produce) and independent seasonal evening and weekend work (like watering greenhouse starts, field irrigation, and animal care). This person will work closely with PEAS Farm staff team as well as the University students and Garden City Harvest administrative staff. Ideally, this person lives in the apartment onsite.

Hours: Part time year-round with fluctuations in schedule from five to 40 hours per week for a total of 1275 hours annually. Includes some evening and weekend hours.

Benefits: Medical and dental insurance with premium paid in full by employer; 1 week vacation/sick equivalent per year; 3 paid holidays per year; equivalent of one small share of vegetables in season. Starting wage is $17.50/hour.
