Tomato Tutorials: Transplanting in the Ground
Farmer Clare walks through how to transplant and prep tomatoes for a great season. They review suckers, when to remove flowers, and some other useful things that you can still do, even if you planted your tomatoes already (we're guessing most of you have!).
While this might be a bit late in the season, we just put our tomatoes in at Orchard Gardens last week! We have a greenhouse, so they've been trucking along in their pots, keeping warm and growing strong. This spring was cool enough that we didn't want to transplant them in the cold.
And we find that once it is warm enough, they actually catch up fairly quickly, to what they would have been if we had planted them in the cool temps.
Enjoy, and we promise to re-post next season around two weeks after the last frost, ok?
