workshop description
Preserving the season’s bounty looks different to each of us. Determined by preference and what resources we have on hand, each of us will fill our pantries (and freezers) with the foods that are most accessible to us.
Join us for an evening of hand-on exploration into the world of freezing and dehydrating seasonal produce. By diversifying your preservation skills you will be sure to grow your larder both in size and versatility.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Alex stepped into the role of Community Education Coordinator following two years of farming at River Road. Her mission as Community Education Coordinator is to honor our local farmers and food system by empowering individuals to grow and eat local food. Her favorite form of preservation is fermentation, and her favorite fermented food is kimchi, with all other ferments taking a close second.
SLIDING SCALE
Accessibility is central to the mission of Garden City Harvest. For this reason, our workshops are available on a sliding scale. We value your participation regardless of your financial means, and ask that you choose the appropriate rate for you.
