Dig in early by starting your seeds indoors!
Growing your own seedlings can save you money and allow you to grow a larger variety of plants than you might find at the store. But starting seeds indoors can be tricky. This workshop will ensure you start your garden off strong!
We’ll cover:
What you need to build your own seed starting kit
Which crops are best started indoors in our climate
How to plant seeds, with a hands on lesson
What’s included:
This is a hands-on workshop. The cost of this workshop covers containers, soil, seeds, and plant tags for each participant to plant 6 - 12 plants that you can take home in addition to the slides and resources provided in the lecture. Participants are welcome to bring their own seed starting trays and seeds.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Emily Kern Swaffar is our Community Gardens Director and provides tremendous insight as an instructor for our garden workshops. With a degree in Landscape Architecture, her Permaculture Design Certificate, and a business focused on edible and native landscaping, her roots run deep in the world of growing your own food.
