Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
North Avenue Youth Farm - PEAS Farm - Orchard Gardens - River Rd.
We have one CSA share available at Orchard Gardens. Contact us for more information by email or phone, 406.523.3663.
What is a CSA share?
CSA is a food distribution model where you receive a portion
of the farm’s harvest each week during the summer. The
weekly allotment of produce is called a share. Different vegetables
become available as the fields grow and crops are ready to
be harvested.
A share feeds a typical family of four each
week.
Garden City Harvest offers three CSA programs, the PEAS Farm CSA, the River Road Grubshed CSA, and the Orchard Gardens CSA . Our CSAs offer a way for people to connect to food, farming and a sense of place. Our CSAs are similar in the vegetables they offer, but involvement, pricing, and amounts are different for each program.

The River Road Grubshed, located at 1631 River Road, is a CSA program that encourages your participation and connection with the food you eat - you can even roll up your sleeves and help out on the farm. We have two CSA shares: one in winter and one in summer.
The winter share offers around 450 pounds of late season vegetables that you freeze, dry, can, or otherwise store for the winter. Pick ups for Winter Shares will begin approximately mid-August and run into October. No half winter shares, folks, you will have to negotiate that on your own.
The summer share provieds 18 weeks (beginning in early June through the end of Sept.) of fresh locally and organically grown vegetables. Additionally, there are u-pick flowers and herbs. Half shares are available.
Cost:
- Summer share (feeds an average family of 4)- $425
- Half summer share - $235
- Winter share - $500 (+10 hours of work*)
- Sharing Share (help a household in need participate in our CSA) - add up to $500
Pick-Up:Vegetables and flowers
will be picked up Mondays from 5-6:30pm or Thursdays from 5-6:30 pm at the River Road Garden and Neighborhood Farm.
When you purchase a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) share, you will support the Orchard Gardens Farm and receive organically grown vegetables weekly for 16 weeks during the growing season. (Two weeks’ more veggies than last year!)
We strive to accommodate all income levels at Orchard Gardens, determinign the cost of your share based on your annual income. Shares range from $260 to $485.
